Felbermayr awarded as “Top Employer”

Historically grown, solid and down-to-earth, this is how the Wels-based family business Felbermayr presents itself not only in the business fields of transport and lifting technology and construction, but also to its employees. Apart from skiing days, company excursions and further training measures as well as weekly running groups, there have been no programmes for staff loyalty so far, and certainly none with a promotional character. The company has also so far refrained from having an elaborately designed corporate presence on the social media platforms Kununu and Xing. This made the owners Horst and Andrea Felbermayr all the more surprised about this award: “We are pleased that an honest and appreciative attitude, such as we practise together with our managing directors and senior staff, is having an effect,” agree CEO Horst Felbermayr and his wife Andrea, who is responsible for human resources on the general management side. In doing so, they are also continuing the life's work and the intention of the company founder and Horst Felbermayr's father, who passed away last year. He built up the company together with his wife Gisela.
Great appreciation for employees at Felbermayr
The joy is especially great because the assessment was made under difficult conditions, so to speak. The company has been reaching its limits at its headquarters in Wels for some time now. Spatial restrictions often make it difficult for colleagues to work together, but the company, with more than 2,700 employees, has also not been able to grow in all respects despite great efforts. “It is all the more gratifying for us that we can now also give something back to our employees with the new-build of our company headquarters in Wels/Oberthan,” said Horst and Andrea Felbermayr, expressing their satisfaction. From a state-of-the-art workshop to a factory kitchen with an adjoining staff restaurant, as well as a childcare facility and a fitness area, all eventualities and individualities are being catered for. “Welcome to the team of opportunities” is all that can be said, to use the slogan of a campaign that sums up the opportunities for employee development at Felbermayr.
Hundreds of worker assessments for a serious result
For the Best Employers 2021 ranking, more than 1,300 Austrian companies with at least 200 employees in 20 sectors were evaluated and about 220,000 judgements were reviewed. According to Trend, the core of the assessment was an extensive and independent survey of employees by the statistics portal Statista.
